“Bodog Salutes the Troops” was a two-day charity event held in Hawaii to benefit the Fisher House Foundation. The Fisher House Foundation donates homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers, enabling family members to be close to loved ones during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
The event brought together over 10,000 men and women of the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Army based at Hickam Air Force Base, Schofield Barracks, Pearl Harbor, and Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. For many of the men and women in the U.S. Military, the event provided them with the chance to touch American territory for the first time in months or years.
The weekend kicked off with an inter-service poker tournament that was attended by a host of celebrities, poker pros and military personnel.
Other highlights of the event included a concert by Snoop Dogg and Bif Naked, comedy by Colin Quinn, Paul Rodriguez and Wanda Sykes, and a host of celebrities, including Dog the Bounty Hunter, Shannon Elizabeth and Katherine Heigl. During the concert we presented Fisher House with a donation.
